Security & Integrity Verification

Every step of download and update is integrity-protected:

HTTPS end to end

The installer is served from our official storage over HTTPS, so it cannot be tampered with in transit.

SHA-256 fingerprint

After downloading, verify the fingerprint below. A match proves the file is byte-identical to our official release.

Verified auto-update

The app updates itself and cryptographically verifies every update package against the published hash before installing; a mismatch is rejected.

How to verify (Windows)
  1. After the download finishes, open Command Prompt
  2. Run: certutil -hashfile "%USERPROFILE%\Downloads\PokerOS-POS-Setup-1.2.1.exe" SHA256
  3. Confirm the output matches the fingerprint above before installing
How to verify (Linux)
  1. After the download finishes, open a terminal
  2. Run: sha256sum ~/Downloads/PokerOS-POS-1.2.1.AppImage
  3. Confirm the output matches the fingerprint above, then chmod +x and run
What the script does for you

Provision a whole counter terminal with one command

For on-site installers: once the OS is up, paste this line, press Enter, and let the script do the rest.

  • Downloads the latest build and checks its SHA-512 — aborts on any mismatch, so a corrupted file never gets installed
  • Installs the Linux runtime component the app needs (without it the installer simply won't start)
  • Finds the receipt printer by actually printing a test ticket, then wires the address in for you
  • Sets the POS to launch on boot, so staff land straight on the checkout screen
  • Turns off the screensaver, sleep and lock screen so the terminal never dozes off

Safe to re-run. Want to read it first? Add -o pos-provision.sh to save it, review, then run.

Requirements & First-time Setup

  • Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit)
  • On first launch, pair this counter with a device code (generated in Admin → Equipment)
  • Receipt printer (ESC/POS, EPSON-compatible) and cash drawer are optional; enter the connection address in Settings once attached
  • Customer-facing screen activates automatically when a second monitor is connected

Seeing a Windows SmartScreen prompt?

This release is not yet code-signed, so Windows may show “Windows protected your PC” on first run. That is the standard prompt for unsigned apps and does not mean the file is unsafe. Verify the SHA-256 fingerprint above first, then:

  1. Click “More info” in the prompt
  2. Click “Run anyway”
  3. Follow the installer to finish

The Linux build has no SmartScreen prompt — just chmod +x the file and run it.
